What is included in my O2 plan?

This article explains what is included with our O2 20GB, O2 50GB and O2 Unlimited voice and data plans. O2 SMS Only GLOBAL is different and is explained separately below.

Calls, texts and data included with O2 voice and data plans

Our O2 20GB, O2 50GB and O2 Unlimited plans include unlimited calls to UK mobile numbers and UK landlines, plus unlimited SMS to UK mobile numbers.

All 20GB, 50GB and Unlimited plans include a number of minutes for calls from the UK to the EU. If you wish to call other countries, optional international minute bolt-ons are available.

All of our O2 voice and data plans include Roam Like At Home, where you can use your allocated data in the EU and selected other countries as if you are in the UK, and receive calls on your UK number free of charge.

• The 20GB and 50GB plans include 500 minutes of calls from the UK to the EU, plus unlimited calls within the visited country and back to the UK while roaming in included countries.
• The Unlimited plan includes up to 2,000 minutes of calls from the UK to Europe, plus unlimited calls within the visited country and back to the UK while roaming in included countries.

Dialling when roaming

To call back to the UK, or to call locally when roaming, you should use the international dialling format: +(country code), followed by the number without the leading zero (0).

For example, to call the UK number 07123456789, you would dial +447123456789. The same applies to texting.

Roam Like At Home included countries

Roam Like At Home includes the following countries:

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Martinique, Mayotte, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal including Azores and Madeira, Reunion, Romania, Saint Martin, San Marino, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.

O2 SMS Only GLOBAL

Please note: With the O2 SMS Only GLOBAL eSIM, you can receive SMS anywhere in the world by default, but sending SMS, making calls or using data is not supported.

Changing from O2 SMS Only GLOBAL to another O2 plan

O2 SMS Only GLOBAL is a separate incoming-SMS-only plan. It cannot be upgraded, changed or moved to an O2 data, calls or full-service plan, including O2 50GB.

If you want an O2 plan that includes data or calls, you need to buy a new plan separately. The new plan will come with a new mobile number.

You cannot keep or transfer your O2 SMS Only GLOBAL number when moving to another O2 plan. If you still need to receive SMS on your O2 SMS Only GLOBAL number, please keep that subscription active.

Services outside your plan

The following services are outside your plan and may be charged for. To use these types of services, you need to add Overage during checkout. This allows charges up to £25, which will be charged to your payment card if used.

1. Calls to premium numbers. For example, in the UK, premium-rate services often start with 09, and certain 118 directory enquiry lines carry additional charges.
2. Calls to UK 08 non-geographic numbers.
3. SMS to premium or short numbers.
4. Usage outside the UK and the included roaming countries listed above.
5. International calls outside your inclusive minutes.

At checkout, you also have the option to add Overage up to the value of £25.
