What does it mean when my Out of Bundle Usage ( or Spendcap ) has been triggered?

This can only occur on our Vodafone and O2 plans.

It means that you have either used the eSIM in a country that is outside the coverage in the bundle or you have made a call that is outside your call allowance. The charges for out of bundle usage on Vodafone and O2 plans are very high and means that you have used up all of the allowance on the eSIM.

Note: Most of our Vodafone and O2 plans will connect to a network EVERYWHERE so you need to be very careful about where you use these plans. The exceptions to this are Vodafone AirFree, 6GB and 24GB which are UK only.

Once this happens there is no way of re-instating the allowance and the eSIM will not function until the beginning of a new CALENDAR month. It is NOT possible to top up the eSIM allowance or to lift/increase the spendcap. After the spendcap is triggered, the eSIM will lose network connection completely, meaning no signal bars will appear until it resets.

Note: If you choose the Postpaid option (available only for domestic O2 and Vodafone UK plans not travel plans), which can be selected at the time of purchase and not during renewal, you can continue using your eSIM beyond your allowance, up to £25 in extra charges. Once you reach the £25 limit, the Spendcap will apply, and your eSIM will stop working until the beginning of the next calendar month.
