Why am I not receiving SMS on my eSIM?
If your eSIM is active but you are not receiving SMS messages, please follow these checks.
Ask our ChatBot to test your line: The ChatBot can check whether your line is active, whether incoming SMS is enabled, whether your plan covers the country you are in, and whether there is a spend-cap, billing, or service restriction.
Check that your eSIM is installed and switched on: Go to your phone's Mobile/Cellular settings and make sure the eSIM.net line is installed and turned on.
Check that you are connected to a supported network: If your phone does not connect automatically, open Network Selection, turn Automatic off, and manually select one of the available supported networks. Leave it selected for at least 5 minutes so the eSIM has time to register. If SMS still does not arrive, try another available network.
Temporarily turn off other SIMs or eSIMs: If you have another SIM or eSIM active in the same phone, temporarily turn off the other line and leave only the eSIM.net line switched on. Restart the phone, then manually select a supported network again. Leave it selected for at least 5 minutes. Once the eSIM.net line has registered and SMS is working, you can turn your other line back on.
Use the full international number format: If you are expecting a verification SMS, make sure the sender has your number in full international format. For UK numbers, remove the first 0 and add +44. For example, 07123456789 becomes +447123456789.
Try a normal SMS test: Ask someone to send a standard SMS from another mobile number. If a normal SMS arrives but an app or bank verification SMS does not, the issue may be with the sender's verification system rather than the eSIM line.
Restart your device: Restarting the phone can help it reconnect properly to the roaming network.
Use Airplane Mode: Turn Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds, then turn it off again and wait a few minutes for the line to reconnect.
If you still cannot receive SMS after trying these steps, please email support@esim.net with your order number, mobile number, ICCID, the country you are in, the network currently shown on your phone, and whether a normal SMS from another mobile number arrives.
